As a young girl, Carolyn Brewer was in the path of the 1957 Kansas-Missouri or Ruskin
Heights tornado, a long track F5 tornado that killed around 40 people in
the Kansas City metro area. The book she authored, "Caught in the Path" was
about that tornado and those who survived and died in the storm. During
the 50th anniversary of the storm in Kansas City, she found so many stories and
information that were omitted from the book, she is now writing a sequel.
